OASIZ’s “Seikai ga Wakaranai” Produces First Terrestrial TV Drama! “Show Dora presents Seikai ga Wakaranai” – A Unique Near-Future Drama Where “Resurrection AI” Has Become Widespread

Starring Hina Kawata in her first drama role since graduating from Hinatazaka46, airing late night on Friday, September 11, 2026 on ABC TV

OASIZ Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yu Eto; hereinafter “OASIZ”), which supports brand marketing through SNS and vertical videos, is pleased to announce that the short drama account “Seikaiwakaranai” (I Don’t Know What’s Right), which the company plans, produces, and operates, has won the Grand Prize at the “Mynavi Short Drama Award 2026,” and based on this prize, will produce the terrestrial drama “Short Drama presents Seikaiwakaranai,” which will air on ABC TV from 0:24 AM on Friday, September 11, 2026.

This terrestrial drama production marks OASIZ’s first challenge in this format. Leveraging the expertise gained from managing short dramas for numerous companies, we have adapted the unique worldview of “Seikaiwakaranai” to the terrestrial broadcast format. Starring Hina Kawata in her first drama role since graduating from Hinatazaka46, the story is set in a near future where “deceased resurrection AI” has become widespread, depicting a “story with no right answer” that questions how humans should engage with AI.

About “Short Drama presents Seikaiwakaranai”

OASIZ has been pursuing a new form of entertainment that deeply penetrates viewers’ daily lives, starting with SNS and vertical videos. “Seikaiwakaranai” is OASIZ’s flagship IP account, and has continued to create works that resonate with the emotions of young people living in an “era where the right answer is unclear.”

This time, as part of producing the terrestrial TV drama that came as a prize for winning the Grand Prize at the “Mynavi Short Drama Award 2026,” we have created a drama work set in a near future where “deceased resurrection AI” has become widespread, cutting into the threats of modern society where AI is deeply embedded in daily life.

Synopsis

Misaki Matsuzaki (Hina Kawata) is a high school student living with her mother Michiko (Junko Sakurai). However, the real Michiko died three years ago, and the current Michiko is a “deceased resurrection AI” generated from photos and chat history with AI during her lifetime. Misaki had been hiding this from others, but her older sister Nanami (Tomomi Nakai), who came to visit as a surprise on her birthday, discovers the secret. Worried about the high cost of the deceased resurrection AI, Nanami urges Misaki to wake up to reality, but Misaki insists, “I can’t live without Mom.”

The next day, AI Michiko goes out on a date with her boyfriend wearing a sailor uniform, which she said was her dream. In fact, the deceased resurrection AI also reflects aspects of the person’s personality that they kept secret from their family during their lifetime. The mother had secrets she couldn’t tell her daughter, and Misaki is shocked…

Then one day, an official from the Existence Verification Bureau, a government agency that manages households resurrecting the deceased with AI, visits Misaki’s home. They inform Misaki of suspected fraudulent receipt of survivor’s pension—

Eventually, an unexpected situation strikes Misaki. And in fact, her sister Nanami also has a “secret” she’s hiding from Misaki!

“Seikaiwakaranai” questions AI and modern society on terrestrial TV

The short drama account “Seikaiwakaranai” has continued to release works that resonate with the emotions of young people living in an “era where the right answer is unclear.” Following “Holy Chat,” which won the Grand Prize at the “Mynavi Short Drama Award 2026,” this work is set in a near-future Japan where deceased resurrection AI has become widespread, depicting a “story with no right answer” that all modern people should confront.

◆ SNS tie-in projects also underway

Prior to the drama broadcast, a vlog account will launch on SNS to share behind-the-scenes production content and comments from cast and staff. Content that allows viewers to enjoy the drama more deeply will be released sequentially.

Comments

Lead Actress Hina Kawata Comment

When I was confirmed for the role, I felt a lot of nervousness, but I was very happy to be involved in this work!

Reading the script, there were scenes that made me think deeply because of this AI era we live in, and I myself felt many things through the role of Misaki.

During filming, I worked on each scene while receiving lots of advice from the director. I hope you’ll watch while thinking about what you would do if you could meet an important person again through the “deceased resurrection AI” service.

Director Mamoru Shinoda Comment

Just as we cannot go back to an era without smartphones, the world can no longer return to an era without AI.

In this era, how will we engage with the technology of AI?

What does it mean to “live” in this era?

I directed this work so that everyone could feel these questions without answers.

Unlike short dramas, we could use longer time for each cut, so I was able to employ many directing techniques that can only be done with long single takes, such as focusing on abnormalities creeping into daily life and emotional states.

Also, unlike short dramas, shooting in horizontal format allowed us to arrange people side by side

and properly place props in the background, so I think the amount of information in each cut has increased significantly.

While having a different flavor from the short drama “Seikaiwakaranai,” I think you’ll feel “this is indeed ‘Seikaiwakaranai'” when you finish watching. Please don’t miss a single second until the very end.

Screenwriter Tomoki Shirakawa Comment

The trigger for choosing this theme was when Director Shinoda discovered the “AI that lets you talk to the deceased” that was released in China and became a hot topic.

We valued the axis of “updating how we see the world,” which was appreciated at the Mynavi Short Drama Award, and expressed a worldview that could never be depicted in a short drama.

I was thinking of creating a work that could balance the engaging presentation that is the strength of short dramas with the utilization of “pauses” unique to horizontal dramas.

This is a work packed with surprises for viewers and a thesis on humanity’s future.

Look forward to the last second.
